Carry the Flame, Share the Spirit! Enter the Mississauga Pan Am Community Torchbearer Contest

Nominations are now open for Mississauga’s TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games Community Torchbearer contest.

Two Mississauga residents will be chosen as local torchbearers to join in the 2015 Torch Relay for the Pan Am Games.

Nominations should include 75 words or less explaining how the nominee:

• Has excelled athletically or personally
• Is a role model and has made a positive contribution to the lives of others
• Has made a significant contribution to the community through volunteerism, sport, arts, or culture
• Is a hometown hero or local celebrity

The contest runs until 4 p.m. on December 18, 2014. Visit mississauga.ca to submit a nomination and to view full contest details and criteria.

About the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games torch relay
The TORONTO 2015 Torch Relay for the Pan Am Games will feature 3,000 torchbearers who will carry the Pan Am flame along its 41-day journey and share the Pan Am spirit in more than 130 communities.

The Pan Am torch relay will start in Canada on May 30, 2015, and will make its final stop on July 10, 2015 at the Opening Ceremonies in Toronto.
