MiWay’s work in 2025 marked a significant shift from vision‑setting to practical, meaningful action. Throughout the year, MiWay strengthened day‑to‑day service, responded directly to community feedback, and enhanced both customer and employee experiences. These efforts delivered tangible results, including a 54% reduction in overcrowding on the busiest routes, upgrades to 155 landing pads, the installation of 70 new shelters, and achieving 99.4% accessibility across all bus stops.
Guided by MiWay’s strategic themes—Levelling Up MiWay, I Love MiWay, and MiWay of the Future—the team modernized digital tools, improved safety through fleet‑wide driver protection systems, and refined the network to better match evolving travel patterns. In June 2025, MiWay welcomed Transit Director Maureen Cosyn Heath, bringing leadership that strengthens safety, supports staff, and prepares the system for continued growth.
Throughout the year, MiWay also reallocated resources to where they were needed most, introducing targeted improvements such as the 135 Eglinton Express, new weekend service on Route 110 University Express, and other service changes grounded in customer demand and data‑informed decision‑making.
