The City of Mississauga was presented with a National Public Works Week award in the Large
Centre category from the Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA). The presentation of the
award was made by Paul Smeltzer, CPWA Director, at the City Council meeting on October 22,
In presenting the award to Mississauga, CPWA Director Paul Smeltzer noted the high level of
involvement by the department of public works staff, the creative use of media to get the word
out, as well as a wonderful array of events and venues to display public works initiatives and
promote it as a profession of choice.
