COVID-19: latest updates on the City's response and service impacts

Creative Industries are industries that are based on individual creativity, skill and talent with the potential to create wealth and jobs through developing intellectual property, the legal rights to ideas, inventions and creations in creative fields. Creative Industry is experiencing rapid growth in Ontario and Mississauga is no exception.

The three sectors that have the greatest capacity in Mississauga are film & television, music and interactive digital media. The Culture Division is currently developing a Creative Industries Strategy.

The strategy will review existing creative industries within the city and identify actions to attract, develop, and grow the sector. It will identify economic opportunities within film and television, music, and interactive digital media sectors. Strengthening Creative Industries enhances the City's future economic and social well-being and will contribute to a better quality of life for residents.

The City of Mississauga's Creative Industries Strategy was approved by Council on September 14, 2016. The strategy is available for download here.
