Sheridan Park Drive Extension Environmental Assessment Class Study

The City of Mississauga has completed a Class Environmental Assessment study for the proposed extension of Sheridan Park Drive between Homelands Drive and Speakman Drive.

The Study was carried out in accordance with the requirements of a Schedule B undertaking as outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Manual (October 2000, as amended 2007, 2011 & 2015), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

The study examined how traffic operates both now and in the future – and determined ways to address existing and future issues. It also examined the impacts of extending Sheridan Park Drive on the social, cultural and natural environments and developed mitigation measures. Several alternatives were developed and evaluated and refined through community and agency consultation. The Project Team then selected a preferred alternative. A Project File documenting the entire Study process is available for public review.

Consultation is an important part of the Municipal Class EA process. Throughout the Study, the City contacted various agencies and members of the community, and considered their opinions as part of any decisions that were made.
