The City offers a subsidy to help recoup the cost of outdoor maintenance service fees for eligible seniors with low incomes and people with disabilities with low incomes.
You can claim a subsidy for services you’ve paid for including (but not limited to) yard work, tree and garden maintenance and snow removal.
You may be eligible to receive a subsidy for outdoor maintenance services you’ve paid for, if you meet the following conditions:
You are not eligible for the outdoor maintenance subsidy if:
The subsidy covers the entire year, from January 1 to December 31. If you want to apply for the subsidy for a particular year, your deadline to apply is March 31 of the following year for services you paid for between January and December.
Follow these steps to apply:
The City may audit payment receipts and contact service providers to confirm details of services provided.
The City may request additional documents to validate the outdoor maintenance subsidy application. Incomplete or misleading information may result in a rejected application.
If your application is approved, the City will mail you the subsidy cheque to the property location. The cheque will arrive after June 15 of the year following the subsidy claim year. If you move after submitting the application, you must notify the City by email, mail or dropbox.
