Mississauga shows its Pride all month long

Pride season beings in Mississauga with a ceremonial flag raising on June 1

Entertainment and activities | May 30, 2025

Every June, Mississauga joins the rest of Canada to acknowledge and celebrate Pride Month and the beginning of Pride season. This is a time to celebrate our 2SLGBTQI+ community while amplifying their voices and stories and coming together to learn about the progress made towards equal treatment and human rights.

The City of Mississauga is offering a variety of Pride activities and initiatives all month long. Residents are encouraged to join the City and its staff in celebrating Pride’s history and fostering an open, inclusive and equitable environment in Mississauga.

  • All are welcome at the Progress Pride flag raising ceremony hosted by City partners, Rainbow Sauga Alliance, starting at 11 a.m. on June 1 at City Hall. Pride flags will be flying at all City-owned and operated facilities with more than one flagpole throughout the month of June.
  • Check out the book clubs hosted by Mississauga Library with a Pride month theme. Visit Lakeview Library on June 6 or Hazel McCallion Central Library on June 10.
  • Viewing the Civic Centre Clock Tower lighting on June 1 and all others evenings in June when a alternate cause hasn’t been scheduled for recognition.

The annual Pride Parade in Toronto is among the largest Pride events in North America and the City of Mississauga will be there along with our partners, Rainbow Sauga Alliance. The parade is taking place on Sunday, June 29 starting at 2 p.m.

Rainbow Sauga Alliance has also joined forces with Moyo Health and Community Services for Peel Pride 2025 taking place on Saturday, July 12 from noon to 4 p.m. Registration is required to participate. The online form can  be found here.
