Body rub parlour
Your licence expires annually based on the street name of your location. For streets starting with:
- A to D, the licence expires March 31
- E to K, the licence expires August 31
- L to P, the licence expires October 31
- Q to Z, the licence expires December 31
For licences issued 90 days or less before the annual expiry date, your expiry will be automatically extended until the following year.
A renewal notice will be sent to the email address on file. If no email is available, it will be mailed to you.
Requirements
You must be 18 years of age or older to apply. You also must provide the following documents and approvals:
- Articles of incorporation or corporate profile report (not required for sole proprietorships)
- Business name registration
- Government-issued identification card, driver’s licence, birth certificate or Canadian passport
- A letter of authorization signed by the owner or director of the business, appointing an agent to act on their behalf, if required
- Zoning Certificate of Occupancy or minor variance or building permit
- A police criminal record check issued within the last 60 days by a Canadian police service for all owners, directors and partners (third-party criminal record checks aren’t accepted)
Licence fees
A new licence costs $7,886.48.
A licence renewal costs $7,709.19.
How to apply or renew
You can apply for or renew your licence in person or by mail. Only complete applications will be reviewed.
In person
- Complete the business licence application and gather the required documents and approvals.
- Book an appointment for a new licence or a licence renewal.
- Bring your application and supporting documents to your appointment. The Licensing Permits and Regulatory Services office is at 950 Burnhamthorpe Road West.
- Pay the licence fees.
By mail
Mail your completed business licence application, the supporting documents and a cheque payable to the City of Mississauga in the amount of the licence fee to:

Body rub attendant
You can only apply for or renew this licence in person. Only complete applications will be reviewed. Body rub attendants must have a valid operating licence to work in a licensed body rub parlour.

Requirements

- Government-issued identification card, driver’s licence, birth certificate or Canadian passport
- A police criminal record check issued by a Canadian police service within 60 days of you submitting your application (third-party criminal record checks aren’t accepted)
- Certificate of medical fitness signed by a qualified physician within 30 days of you submitting your application certifying you are free from communicable diseases and are medically fit to perform body rubs
Licence fees
A new licence costs $484.62.
A licence renewal costs $454.85.
