Affordable Housing Strategy

Housing is an issue that affects every resident and business in the city. Making Room for the Middle: An Affordable Housing Strategy for Mississauga aims to help provide housing that’s affordable for all.

It includes four goals and 40 actions that were developed with the assistance of a group of experts from all levels of government, and the private and non-profit sectors. It’s bold, innovative and practical, and sets a new course for Mississauga.

The City has also completed a Housing Needs Assessment (HNA) study to help identify current and future housing needs and address housing gaps in the current and projected housing supply. The HNA is a key tool in qualifying for the renewal of the Federal Housing Accelerator Fund, the Canada Community-Building Fund, the Canada Public Transit Fund, and the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund.
