Entertainment and activities | April 6, 2023
The City is recognizing and celebrating Earth Days through a series of virtual and in-person events. From Thursday, April 20 to Monday, May 8, you can learn about native and invasive plant species, take part in planting trees, or come out to an art exhibit about locally sourced food. Through the events, you will learn how to take action to help protect our environment while making Mississauga more resilient to our changing climate.
This year, the City is celebrating its 10-year anniversary of the One Million Trees program. The program helps conserve and enhance Mississauga’s open spaces and forested areas by planting one million new trees by 2032. On Saturday, April 22, you’re invited to come out and help plant 1,500 trees and shrubs at 11 sites across Mississauga. There will also be a community celebration at Willowvale Fields where you can take part in family-friendly activities and meet sustainable vendors from local environmental organizations.
