11:30 p.m. Update: Hickory Drive Explosion

Displaced residents are asked to register at the reception centre at Burnhamthorpe Community Centre, 1500 Gulleden Drive before making overnight accommodations to ensure all are accounted for. The reception centre will be open all night. If residents are not able to visit the centre, they are asked to please phone Peel Regional Police at 905-453-2121 extension 1241 to register.

Peel Social Services, Red Cross and the Insurance Bureau of Canada are onsite and can assist families as needed. At this time donations for residents are not needed.

First responders including Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services, Peel Regional Police and Peel EMS continue to stabilize the site. The Heavy Urban Search and Rescue Team is onsite. Affected residents have been evacuated.

The following road closures remain in effect: Rathburn Rd. (to the south), Golden Orchard (to the west), Eastgate Pwky. (to the north), Dixie Rd. (to the east). Residents in this area are asked to remain in their homes. Those choosing to leave this area should be aware that there will be no return access until further notice.

As a precaution, Burnhamthorpe Library and Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre are both closed until further notice.
