Residents are asked to avoid the area of Rathburn Road and Dixie Road due to a home explosion on Hickory Drive.
First responders including Mississauga Fire and Emergencies Services, Peel Regional Police and Peel EMS are working to stabilize the site. At this time, it has been confirmed that 25 homes have been affected.
Road closures are in effect on Dixie Road south of Eastgate Parkway. Additional closures on Golden Orchard Drive, Rathburn Road and Burnhamthorpe Road are also in effect.
A reception centre has been set up at Burnhamthorpe Community Centre, 1500 Gulleden Dr., for those affected.
