Every Ride Counts: Mississauga’s Annual Bike to Work Day
The City of Mississauga, Smart Commute Mississauga and Metrolinx invite residents to give their cars a break and cycle to work for the 8th annual Bike to Work Day on May 26. Group rides from various parts of the city will be followed by a free breakfast at Mississauga Celebration Square.
“Bike to Work Day is an excellent example of positive community building,” said Ward 3 Councillor Chris Fonseca and Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee member. “I encourage everyone to join us and register for a Bike to Work Day ride. It’s just one of the many ways the community can get involved in living green.”
“Our goal is for people to integrate cycling into their daily life,” said Jacquelyn Hayward Gulati, manager of the Active Transportation Office. “Bike to Work Day, a part of Bike Month, is a wonderful opportunity for people to realize the benefits of cycling and is just the beginning of creating a more liveable Mississauga.”
