City Announces New Director of Revenue and Materiel Management

The City of Mississauga has appointed Connie Mesih as Director of Revenue and Materiel Management effective August 10, 2015. Mesih has been the City’s Acting Director of Revenue and Material Management since March 2015.

Reporting to the Commissioner, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer, Gary Kent, Mesih will be responsible for managing all business functions of the Revenue and Materiel Management Division. This includes property taxation, receivables, collections and procurement including a Central Stores warehouse operation.

“Connie has been working at the City of Mississauga for more than 25 years in a financial capacity. She has held various positions in the areas of accounting, financial planning, human resources and property assessment and taxation, said Kent. “Connie’s knowledge and commitment to excellence is evident in her leadership of the Taxation and Revenue team as well as the many contributions she has made to the municipal finance system in Ontario.”

In her previous role, Mesih was the City’s Manager of Revenue and Taxation where she managed a $2 million budget, led a team of 35 and was responsible for all aspects of property taxation, accounts receivable and revenue collection including Provincial Offences Fines. Mesih holds designations as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), and Certified Municipal Tax Professional (CMTP). Mesih received the 2014 Excellence in Municipal Finance award from the Municipal Finance Officers’ Association of Ontario (MFOA) and is currently President of the Ontario Municipal Tax and Revenue Association.
