City Announces New Finance Director and Treasurer

The City of Mississauga has appointed Jeff Jackson as Director, Finance and Treasurer effective July 16, 2015. Jackson has been the City’s Acting Director, Finance and Treasurer since March 2015.

Reporting to the Commissioner, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer, Gary Kent, Jackson will be responsible for managing all business functions of the Finance Division. This includes corporate business planning and the budget process, as well as the City’s Long-Range Financial Plan and City-wide financial services like payroll and accounts payables, investment management, accounting and financial reporting.

“Jeff has been with the City of Mississauga for more than 23 years working in a number of finance roles. He has wealth of experience that will serve him well in this new role,” said Kent. “Jeff will continue to lead the Finance team in providing efficient and effective financial services and advice to Council and staff as the foundation for achieving the City’s strategic goals.”

In his previous role, Jackson was the City’s Director of Revenue and Materiel Management where he was responsible for property taxation, revenue collection and purchasing.

Jackson has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from York University and holds designations as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA).
