Mississauga City Council passed a resolution today, asking that the Ontario Energy Board provide a detailed explanation as to the justification for the 40 per cent natural gas rate increase afforded to Enbridge.
In the resolution, Council requests that the Ontario Energy Board undertake a comprehensive review of its policies regarding requests by utilities for rate increases. And that advance notice of increases to customers be mandatory and that increases be phased in.
