Business and innovation | November 3, 2015

The City of Mississauga welcomes Andrea Mulder in the new role as Life Sciences Business Consultant in the Economic Development Office (EDO).

Reporting to the Manager of Sector Development and Economic Partnerships, Bonnie Brown, Mulder will provide leadership and support in developing and implementing initiatives that will achieve and advance Mississauga’s Life Sciences sector growth and innovation.

“The Economic Development Office is thrilled to have Andrea take on this new position that was developed to expand our growing life sciences sector,” said Susan Amring, Director of Economic Development. “This new position is a much needed, dedicated resource to help develop strategies to identify sector trends, investment opportunities and create activities that support the sector.”

This new position was developed in support of the City’s Economic Development Master Plan that outlines the importance of creating additional resources to support one of Mississauga’s largest industry sectors. This position will help foster Mississauga’s life sciences sector by creating an environment that connects firms to each other to encourage industry discussions, build and grow local supply chains and create opportunities for continued innovation and collaboration.

The commencement of Mulder’s new role is in perfect alignment with the start of National Biotech Week (October 30 – November 6) where she will be participating in several life sciences events and initiatives.
