The City of Mississauga is now accepting applications from arts, culture and community organizations requiring financial support in 2017.
In anticipation of the Canada 150th anniversary events expected to take place throughout Mississauga next year, the City is offering a grant program in 2017 that focuses specifically on this monumental celebration.
“The Culture grant programs are one of the most important tools the City has to encourage the growth and development of the arts community in Mississauga,” said Paul Damaso, Director, Culture Division, City of Mississauga. “Making these grants available helps to strengthen the cultural sector and increases the economic and social impacts arts and culture has on our city.”
The grants fall into four categories.
This program provides operating funding for not-for-profit cultural organizations. The grant helps organizations advance knowledge and develop exemplary programs and services that further the understanding and the appreciation of the arts, culture and heritage for the citizens of Mississauga.
This program is intended to support Canada’s 150th anniversary events or activities taking place between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.
This program assists Mississauga-based organizations by providing funding for costs associated with providing a clean and safe venue for the presentation of arts, heritage and cultural festivals and celebrations.
This program assists Mississauga-based, not-for-profit community groups in their delivery of programs and services benefiting the Mississauga community.
The deadline to apply for all grants is Friday, October 14, 2016 by 4:30 p.m.
