City of Mississauga to Permanently Raise MCFN Flag in Council Chamber

On Wednesday, November 16, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation’s (MCFN) flag will be permanently placed in Council Chamber during the first Council meeting of Mississauga’s 2022-2026 term. The City is taking this action to recognise the Treaties, which are foundational agreements in the creation of present-day Mississauga and Canada. 

What:
Permanent placement of the MCFN flag in Council Chamber:  

  • Presentation by Gimaa (Chief) Stacey Laforme and MCFN Councillor, Andrea King 
  • Photos with Gimma Laforme, Councillor King, Mayor Crombie and Members of Council  

When:
Wednesday, November 16, 2022
Event will take place during the Council Meeting and is expected to begin at 11 a.m. in Council Chamber.
