Have a family? Are you a new resident, student or older adult? The City of Mississauga has a variety of exciting spring and summer programs and activities for you to explore. If you’re looking to register for a program, buy a membership, get a library card, develop a skill or are interested in trying something new, there is something for everyone no matter your age, interest or ability.
On February 10, residents can visit activemississauga.ca to browse a wide variety of spring and summer programs like swimming, group exercise classes, health and wellness, sports activities, leagues and creative classes. Starting February 20, residents can register for programs online. Activemississauga.ca is easy to use, mobile-friendly and provides simple search, bookmark and registration features. In addition to the website, residents will continue to have access to in-person customer service support from knowledgeable staff at all local community centres and the Recreation customer service centre.
Many of the City’s 18 libraries are located with or near community centres. They are an excellent place to find a cozy spot to read the newest novel from your favourite author, catch up on some work or spend time between programs. Library patrons can participate in a variety of programs like story times, Maker Mississauga, 3-D printing, reading clubs, crafts, shows, films and much more. City libraries also provide new and innovative ways to connect with digital resources and online services available in Mississauga. In addition to the visual art classes currently offered, the City recently introduced a new series of digital art classes. Explore the world through the lens of a digital camera and make a virtual mess with digital paint. Find a class that’s right for you based on your age and skill level. Classes are affordable and use free open source software for app and web design, graphic design, animation and more. For more information, visit: mississauga.ca/culture.
