City to Offer Free Simplified Tax Receipts Online for Property Owners

City services | December 6, 2017

The City of Mississauga will offer property owners the convenience of viewing and printing a Simplified Tax Receipt online at no cost. Beginning December 15, property owners can submit a request for a Simplified Tax Receipt through the City’s Tax Self-Service Centre website for the current year and one year prior.

“Property owners usually require a property tax receipt when being audited by the Canada Revenue Agency,” said Connie Mesih, Director, Revenue and Materiel Management. “This initiative is a great way to provide customer service in an efficient and cost-effective way.”

The Simplified Tax Receipt will only be available online and staff at the service counters will not be able to provide a copy. However, detailed tax receipts will continue to be available for purchase online or through mail-in and in-person requests for $25 each.
