Council Approves Funding for 2015 Grant Programs

Local government | February 12, 2015

Mississauga City Council approved more than $3 million in funding for community culture, festivals, recreation and environment programs. The funds are made available through the Arts and Culture, Cultural Festivals and Celebrations (CFC), Recreation and Sport and Environment Grant Programs.

“The City’s grants help to develop talent, nurture new arts, foster community groups and support local festivals,” said Community Services Commissioner Paul Mitcham. “Mississauga’s culturally rich, active and engaging community is a key reason why people choose to live in and visit our city.”

According to Mitcham, through the grant programs, the City of Mississauga builds and strengthens our neighbourhoods. Grants help community organizations deliver much needed programs and services that complement the City’s programs and also help community organizations become more professional, accountable and sustainable in providing these services.
