Deadline to Become a Nominated Candidate in the Municipal Election is this Friday

Thinking about running in the City of Mississauga’s 2018 Municipal Election? If so, you must complete the nomination form and hand it in before this Friday, July 27 at 2 p.m.

The City is accepting applications for Mayor, Ward Councillors and School Board Trustees.  The filing fee is $200 for Mayor and $100 for Councillor and Trustee.  Candidates must hand in their completed forms in person to the Office of the City Clerk at the Mississauga Civic Centre. Those applying for Mayor and Ward Councillor must also provide 25 endorsements from eligible voters in Mississauga. Nominations for Peel Regional Chair must be made at the office for the Region of Peel.  Candidates applying for Peel Regional Chair must also provide 25 endorsements from eligible voters in Peel Region. All forms and other information can be found online at http://www.peelregion.ca/elections/become-a-candidate.asp.
