Explore our City by Bike in the 8th Annual Tour de Mississauga

Join an estimated 4,000 cyclists on Sunday, September 20 for Canada’s largest free bike tour. Special this year, all five cycling routes will travel on the Mississauga Transitway for part of the ride. There will be no traffic on the transitway that day, as currently MiWay buses don’t operate on the transitway on Sundays. Please note that with the exception of the 2015 Tour de Mississauga, cycling is not permitted on the Mississauga Transitway.

The event begins and ends at Mississauga Celebration Square. It’s an opportunity for all riders, from families to elite cyclists and those with electric-assist bikes to enjoy a ride suited to them.

New in 2015, teens aged 14 to 17 years-old can ride in the Tour unaccompanied, if their parent/guardian gives online permission.

7 a.m:120 km (75 miles) City Classic Ride

8 a.m:100 km (62 miles) Challenge Road Ride

8:30 a.m.:60 km (37 miles) Signature Sixty Ride

9:30 a.m.: 30 km (18 miles) Leisure Ride

10:30 a.m.: 15 km (9.3 miles) Family Ride

Mississauga Celebration Square – start/finish line
300 City Centre Drive (Burnhamthorpe Road West & Hurontario Street)

Routes:

Giant Bicycles Family Ride – This 15 km (9.3 miles) paved downtown route is designed for families and beginning riders. Child trailers and bike seats welcome. Children must be seven-years-old to ride on their own.

Grant Thornton Leisure Ride – This 30 km (18 miles) ride features many paved off-road trails and is suitable for adults and families who enjoy cycling regularly.

Royal Synergies Collision Signature Sixty Ride – This 60 km (37 miles) route covers a variety of on and off-road paved trails throughout the city.

The Symons Group (ScotiaMcLeod) Challenge Road Ride – This 100 km (62 miles) route covers most of the city. It is a road-only ride for experienced cyclists who are up for a challenge.

Invesco City Classic Ride – This 120 km (75 miles) route is targeted to long-distance specialists.

After completing the Tour, riders can enjoy a free barbecue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. compliments of the Region of Peel’s Walk + Roll Program.

MiWay will be onsite at the Square doing demonstrations on how to load your bike on a bus.
