Forbes names City of Mississauga one of Canada’s Best Employers for the fifth year in a row

The City of Mississauga named one of Canada's Best Employers for 2024 by Forbes

The City of Mississauga was once again recognized by Forbes as one of Canada’s Best Employers for 2024 for the fifth consecutive year, ranking among the top percentage of all Government Services organizations in Canada.

“As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our great City, it is an honour to be recognized by Forbes as a top employer across the country,” said Acting Mayor Joe Horneck. “This achievement is worth celebrating because it represents the City of Mississauga’s strong people culture, remarkable leadership and the continued commitment of our employees to delivering excellent services to our residents.”

The 2024 list features companies and corporations across Canada, including 23 Mississauga-based businesses. According to Forbes, the evaluation is based on an independent survey of over 40,000 employees working for companies and institutions in Canada that employ 500 or more staff.

“Our strength as an employer lies in the City’s dynamic corporate culture and commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment,” said Shari Lichterman, City Manager and Chief Administrative Officer. “We are proud of our employees and inspired by their passion for outstanding service delivery. We are committed to continuing to support their comprehensive well-being with ongoing opportunities for growth and development.”
