Good News for MiWay Customers this Spring

MiWay has good news this spring for adults purchasing a PRESTO monthly pass and for seniors who want to pay a $1 fare with PRESTO instead of cash.

Adult Monthly PRESTO Pass Reduced

On April 1, 2022 the adult PRESTO monthly pass will be reduced to $131 from $135. Customers can purchase at the new rate starting March 18, 2022.

The new rate provides better value and offers unlimited travel on MiWay during a calendar month.

Senior $1 Fare on PRESTO

Beginning May 1, 2022, the senior $1 fare can be paid with a PRESTO card.

The fare is available:

• weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 5:59 a.m.
• weekends and holidays.

At all other times, the senior PRESTO fare remains at $2.10 or a senior monthly pass can be purchased for $65. This change encourages more seniors to switch to paying with PRESTO and reduces the number of cash transactions.

 Recently announced GO Transit Discounts

• Metrolinx recently announced starting March 14, 2022 customers can ride MiWay free when they connect with GO Transit (bus or train) using their PRESTO card.
• Affordable Transit Program (ATP) participants will be eligible for a new GO Transit discount. The ATP is in partnership with the Region of Peel and provides a 50 per cent discount on PRESTO MiWay Adult or Senior Monthly Passes.
