On Sunday, June 10, the City of Mississauga will officially open Hancock Woodlands. This historic property and former commercial nursery was originally owned by Leslie and Dorothy Hancock. The Hancock family were pioneers of Canada’s horticultural industry, receiving international acclaim for their contributions to landscape architecture and urban planning.
The property was acquired by the City of Mississauga in 2010. Since that time, new amenities have been added including a natural playground, unique tree garden, urban orchard, walking paths, perennial and ornamental grass displays. It is also the location of the Ecosource Hancock Community Garden.
