Hazel McCallion on Stage in Mississauga During `’In Conversation’ Event

As part of the Do Your Homework | A Tribute to Hazel McCallion exhibition, the City’s longest-standing mayor will share leadership lessons learned from building the sixth largest city in Canada during a one-night-only public event on Wednesday, April 12.

The Do Your Homework exhibit presented by the Museums of Mississauga is part of the City’s Canada 150 celebrations. It will highlight the life and times of Hazel McCallion and will include art work from members of the public, items from the Museums of Mississauga collection and mementoes donated by Hazel McCallion.

During the opening reception, McCallion will sit down for an informal ‘In Conversation’ event moderated by Mayor Crombie. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Wednesday, April 12
5 to 7 p.m. Exhibition viewing in the Great Hall, Mississauga Civic Centre (Ground Floor)
7 to 8:30 p.m. In Conversation event, Council Chamber (Second Floor)

Seating:

Access to Council Chamber for the In Conversation event will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the room is at capacity, guests will be encouraged to watch the conversation on-screen from one of the City’s Committee rooms, located adjacent to Council Chamber. The event can also be accessed live. A URL will be shared through @SaugaMuseums@SaugaCulture and @citymississauga Twitter channels in advance of the ‘In Conversation’ experience.

Do Your Homework | A Tribute to Hazel McCallion Exhibition

When:

The exhibition opens on April 12 and will run until April 26, 2017, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guided tours are available from noon to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to book their tours in advance by contacting Stephanie Myhal at stephanie.myhal@mississauga.ca.

Souvenirs:
