Invest Mississauga celebrates two national marketing awards

Invest Mississauga, the City’s economic development division, has been nationally recognized with two awards from the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC). The honours were presented on October 7 at EDAC’s annual conference, celebrating some of Canada’s most innovative economic development marketing initiatives, where Mississauga earned the top spot in the Publications and Community Collaboration categories.

EDAC is Canada’s national not-for-profit association of economic developers and provides members with various resources, professional development opportunities, and more. Each year, organizations across the country are recognized by EDAC for excellence in promoting their communities as top destinations for economic development and growth, while simultaneously advancing their economic development priorities.

Award winning collaboration at IDEA Square One Entrepreneurship Hub

The IDEA Square One Entrepreneurship Hub powered by Invest Mississauga was recognized with the Community Collaboration Award for its collaborative approach to supporting entrepreneurs, including those from underrepresented communities, by building an inclusive and sustainable model. Through partnerships with post-secondary institutions, chambers of commerce, non-profits and local businesses, IDEA Mississauga ensures that more small businesses and startups can access the mentorship, resources and networks they need to succeed.

In addition, IDEA’s targeted programming like the Step-Up Program, Starter Company Plus, Summer Company, EmpowHER Tech Launchpad and more, have all contributed to a growing list of success stories that showcase how IDEA is partnering with and empowering entrepreneurs across the city.

Invest Mississauga’s sector-specific brochures earn a top spot

Invest Mississauga received the Publication Award for its Key Industry Profiles/sector-specific brochures, a data driven business tool that showcases Mississauga’s four knowledge-based sectors: Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, Technology and Smart Logistics. These succinct, data rich and visually engaging marketing brochures  position Mississauga’s key industries and competitive advantages, helping business leaders make informed and timely business and location decisions.

These brochures also helped amplify Mississauga’s visibility on the world stage, including at the BIO Conference in Boston, Hanover Messe in Germany and global investment missions to Japan. By turning complex data into clear, compelling insights, Invest Mississauga has created a marketing tool that reinforces the city’s reputation as one of Canada’s top destinations for business investment.
