Local government | May 6, 2015

John Kovac was officially sworn in as the new Ward 4 Councillor at the City of Mississauga’s General Committee meeting this morning.

“This is a very special day for my family and I as I take this oath, to honour Council and the City of Mississauga and to begin my partnership with the residents of Ward 4,” said Councillor Kovac.

Councillor Kovac was elected on April 27, 2015 during the Municipal Ward 4 By-election. Results were officially certified by the City Clerk on April 29, 2015.

“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, I would like to congratulate Councillor John Kovac on being sworn in as the new City Councillor for Ward 4,” said Mayor Crombie. “All Members of Council look forward to working alongside Councillor Kovac and we welcome the new insights and expertise he will bring to our city-building efforts. This is an especially exciting time for the people of Ward 4 and all of Mississauga, following the provincial government’s recent announcement that the $1.6 billion Hurontario-Main Light Rail Transit (LRT) will be fully funded. We now have a full Council team in place and working together, I look forward to achieving real results for all Mississaugans.”
