Lest We Forget

The City of Mississauga will host a Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Mississauga Civic Centre. The ceremony will take place at the Community Memorial and include two minutes of silence as well as a wreath laying. Veterans who made sacrifices during times of conflict and those who are still making sacrifices today will be honoured.

Flags at the City of Mississauga will also be lowered to half-mast in honour of Remembrance Day.

The ceremony will take place outdoors, so please dress accordingly. In the event of severe weather, the ceremony will take place in the Great Hall inside the Civic Centre.

Take MiWay to Mississauga Celebration Square for the Remembrance Day ceremony. Canadian Forces veterans and their companion can ride MiWay for free on Friday, November 11. Veterans should either wear their uniforms, medals or carry items that identify them as veterans to transit operators on the day.
