Got a favourite spot for coffee? A hairdresser who knows how to tame your hair like no other? Or a contractor who built you the kitchen of your dreams? Show your appreciation by voting for them in the 26th Annual Mississauga Readers’ Choice Awards.
“Mississauga is fortunate to have a wonderful, diverse business community that adds so much to our city’s culture and economy,” said Mayor Bonnie Crombie. “With over 98,000 businesses in Mississauga, we all have our favourites! The Readers’ Choice Awards provide us all with a great opportunity to recognize and spread the word about our favourite businesses. Let’s take the time to vote and give our local businesses a well-deserved boost after a long and difficult year.”
Businesses have been nominated in over 150 categories. The top three businesses in each category who receive the most votes by October 2 will be recognized as Diamond, Platinum, or Gold 2021 Readers’ Choice Award winners.
“Our businesses play a critical role in making Mississauga an ideal spot for residents and visitors to enjoy,” said Toni Frankfurter, Chair, Tourism Mississauga. “They help make our lives better each day with the products and services they provide. The Readers’ Choice Awards gives us an opportunity to let them know how much we appreciate them and to publicly recognize them for their efforts.”
Participants can show their support for their favourite local businesses by voting online until October 2, 2021. Winners will be announced on November 5, 2021.
“We are excited to support this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards in partnership with The Mississauga News,” said Victoria Clarke, Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Mississauga. “Our businesses have been through a lot over the past 18 months, and we all want to celebrate their contributions and incredible resilience as well as to support them through to recovery. The Readers’ Choice program complements our #MississaugaMade promotional program that celebrates the people who work hard each and every day to provide us with the local products and services we love and value.”
