AMO is a non-profit organization representing almost all of Ontario’s municipal governments. AMO supports and enhances strong and effective municipal government in Ontario and promotes the value of municipal government as a vital and essential component of Ontario and Canada’s political systems. Each year, Mississauga leads a delegation to the conference and arranges meetings with key ministries and Members of Cabinet, and opposition party leaders to discuss and advocate for the City’s top priorities.
“Team Mississauga took every opportunity at the AMO Conference to participate in meaningful discussions with the province about our top priorities and to advocate for our City and our residents. Mississauga is always eager to be at the table to continue enhancing our partnerships with our provincial colleagues, in the best interests of our city and province. As one of Ontario’s largest cities, we play an important role in the province’s economy, and the funding and investment we receive needs to reflect this. We successfully delivered our messages and are looking forward to seeing the positive outcomes of our discussions at AMO.” – Matt Mahoney, Deputy Mayor and Ward 8 Councillor, City of Mississauga
