Mississauga is Ready for a Safe Start to the Holiday Season

Entertainment and activities | November 21, 2020

Mississauga’s holiday spirit will be celebrated through the virtual lighting of its 35 ft. Christmas Tree at Mississauga Celebration Square.

Viewers of the virtual ceremony are invited to join from the comfort of their favorite couches, cozy recliners or reindeer-drawn sleighs as Mayor Crombie and Members of Council light up the Square for the first time this winter.

The MCS Christmas Tree, powered by Alectra, will feature 18,000 dazzling lights.

Beginning November 21, Celebration Square will transform into the Great Bright North with vibrant and festive lighting. Guests planning to walk-through the Square must keep within their household groups and maintain a safe physical distance of two metres at all times.

  • Chimes

Chimes is a creation of Collectif Blackbox and a coproduction of the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership and Spectra (Illuminart). It was created for the Fête des Lumières of Lyon in 2017 and is being displayed for the first time in the GTA at Celebration Square.
  • Northern Lightbox presented by TD
This three-sided infinity room-style lightbox will immerse you in the wonder of the Northern Lights.
