Mississauga’s City Manager Newest Board Member for Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships

Yesterday, Paul Mitcham, City Manager and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the City of Mississauga was elected to the Board of Directors for the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) for the 2021-2022 term. The CCPPP is a member-based organization with broad representation from both the private and public sectors. Members work to enable innovative, sustainable approaches to developing, maintaining and operating infrastructure to enhance quality of life for Canadians.

“Paul has played an integral part of Mississauga’s development into a dynamic global city and brings to the CCPPP more than 30 years of public sector knowledge, leadership and experience,” said Mayor Bonnie Crombie. “With Mississauga’s critical infrastructure worth $13.6 billion, I am pleased we have a seat at the table to contribute our voice to the important discussions and positioning regarding building and funding inclusive, accessible, resilient and thoughtful infrastructure.”

Paul Mitcham Bio

Paul Mitcham, City Manager and CAO

In May 2020, Mitcham was selected as the City Manager and CAO for the City of Mississauga. He is the head of the City’s Leadership Team consisting of four commissioners and directly oversees Strategic Communications & Initiatives, Internal Audit and Legal Services. Mitcham has more than 20 years of experience as a strategic leader, planner and facilitator. In his current role as City Manager and CAO, and with the support of his leadership team, he provides direction on the planning and delivery of all City services, programs and operations. Prior to becoming Mississauga’s City Manager, he held the position of Commissioner, Community Services with the City. Mitcham holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto, a Masters of Business Administration from McMaster University and is a Certified Professional Engineer in Ontario.

CCPPP

Established in 1993, CCPPP is a national not-for-profit, non-partisan, member-based organization with broad representation from across the public and private sectors. Its mandate is to collaborate with all levels of government, Indigenous communities and the private sector to enable innovative, sustainable approaches to developing, maintaining and operating infrastructure that achieve the best outcomes and enhanced quality of life for Canadians. The Council is a proponent of evidence-based public policy in support of P3s, facilitates the adoption of international best practices and educates stakeholders and the community on the economic and social benefits of public-private partnerships.
