Shaping Young Minds – Take Our Kids to Work Day at the City

On Wednesday, November 6, approximately 100 local grade nine students will explore the possibilities of a career at the City of Mississauga! Students will spend the morning participating in scheduled activities and the afternoon shadowing City staff in their daily work.

Morning programming includes:

  • Career Information Fair showcasing the variety of jobs at the City
  • A meet and greet with Mayor Crombie in Council Chambers
  • A visit to the Celebration Square stage to learn about a career in events
  • IT staff to showcase new technology available for use at the City

Background

Take Our Kids to Work Day was developed in 1994 in the GTA and is now active in all provinces and territories across the country. More than 250,000 students take part every year. The program is designed to help students understand the importance of staying in school.
