Take a Pledge to be Safe Around Water at Sauga Swim Safety Day

The City of Mississauga is hosting Sauga Swim Safety Day on July 18 at the Lions Club of Credit Valley Outdoor Pool. This event will kick off the Canada 150 water safety initiative at City pools and facilities. Some of the activities planned for the day include:

  • Free swim, colouring station and story time for kids
  • Lifeguard rescue techniques demonstration
  • Mock emergency demonstration
  • Meet Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services (MFES), Peel Regional Police (PRP) and Peel Regional Paramedics Services (PRPS)
  • Hands on rescue clinic demonstration
  • Post selfie photos on social media with #saugaswim150 to win prizes

July 16 to 22 is Drowning Prevention Week across Canada. The City wants to remind residents to be aware of safety techniques and dos and don’ts around swimming pools.
