Vacationing in the city this summer? Hosting friends or family? You don’t have to travel far to enjoy a memorable staycation in Mississauga. There is a lot to see and do – all within a short drive, walk or transit ride.

Get Back to Nature
Trade the three-hour drive to a cottage for a tranquil respite at The Riverwood Conservancy or Rattray Marsh Conservation Area. See native species, stroll through attractive gardens or enjoy a self-guided walk accompanied by birdsong.

Get Cultured
Enjoy a first-hand view of Mississauga’s vibrant arts and culture scene with a public art walking tour or a visit to one of our many museums or the Art Gallery of Mississauga.

Be Festive and Fun
Celebrate summer at one of many festivals taking place in August at Mississauga Celebration Square, from Italfest – Ferragosto in the City to Japan Festival Canada, Muslimfest 2019 and more. All summer long, enjoy free outdoor fitness classes, movie nights, a weekly farmers market and more. The Square is also a great place to people watch, cool off or just relax.

Turn a Page
Renowned for its vast collections, Mississauga Library offers a wide range of programs, events and services for all ages. Check out the program calendar for August activities and events. Visit Meadowvale Library’s outdoor Reading Terrace overlooking Lake Aquitaine Park.

Stop, Dine, Shop and Refresh
Mississauga is home to more than 1,200 restaurants so there’s no need to travel far to enjoy an outstanding dining experience. From biryani to burgers, there’s a wide variety of cuisines to suit all tastes.

Walk off the calories and get some retail therapy at one of the City’s many shopping centres or village-style specialty shops. Whether you are a style setter or value-conscious fashionista (or both!), you can always find something new and exciting close to home in Mississauga.
