Turn up the Fun with the City’s Summer Programs

City Programs and Activities for All Ages and Abilities

With summer approaching – sign up for a summer program with the City. With a variety of exciting programs and activities available – there is loads for you, your family or your friends to enjoy. On Monday, May 9 at 6 a.m., residents can visit ActiveMississauga.ca to browse a wide variety of programs like swimming, group exercise classes, health and fitness, sports activities, author talks, book clubs and creative classes.

Summer program online and in-person registration:

  • Resident registration: Begins on Monday, May 16 at 6 a.m.
  • Non-resident registration: Begins on Monday, May 23 at 6 a.m.
  • Customer Service support is available at 905-615-4100 (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

Summer programs start the week of July 4 and include a variety of programs like swimming lessons, aquatic exercise, art, dance, sports, preschool programming and fitness classes – there’s something for everyone no matter your age, interest or ability.

The programs will take place at various community facilities and locations across Mississauga like parks, libraries, community centres, pools and arenas.

The City is also offering summer camps for children ages four and a half to 14 years old. There are several camps to choose from which include recreational and creative learning activities focused on outdoor play, organized games, sports, arts, crafts, theme days and more. Registration for summer camps start on Monday, May 2 and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Summer programs highlights include:

Outdoor Explorer Programs

If you have little ones, the City is offering two exciting Outdoor Explorer programs for children six to eight or three to four years old (with a parent). Participants will go on nature hikes, explore trees and learn through observation. Dress for the weather.

Citi Swim

If you are an avid swimmer, this program is a team oriented introduction to competitive swimming. It offers the opportunity to learn skills and improve fitness for youth. The program includes stroke and skill improvement and physical training.

Swim Sports

Swim Sports is a stand-alone sampler of various aquatic sports for youth. The program is designed to encourage swimmers of all abilities to learn the fundamentals of aquatic activities and sports that may be available in their community, and to pursue active, healthy lifestyles.

Fitness Programs
Looking to be more active? Enjoy the fresh air and get fit with a variety of outdoor classes including Boot Camp, Yoga, Total Body Conditioning and Nordic Walking programs. The City is also introducing Bollywood fitness to the list of Zumba and dancefit programs offered at 12 fitness locations across the city.

Library
Mississauga’s 18 library locations are an excellent place to find a cool spot to read the newest novel from your favourite author, catch up on some work or just spend some time. Library customers can participate in a variety of virtual and in-person programs for all ages like storytimes, kids reading clubs and performers, book clubs, and teen maker and robotics programs. City libraries also provide new and innovative ways to connect with digital resources and online services available in Mississauga.
