Community engagement is important to us. We want to hear your ideas and opinions on the projects that are transforming the city. There are many ways to get involved and work together to plan and shape Mississauga’s future.

The City of Mississauga is working with Credit Valley Conservation and the Region of Peel to develop a Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan in the Cooksville neighbourhood. The plan will help make Cooksville Creek and the surrounding neighbourhood more sustainable and ready for a changing climate with potential actions like tree plantings, stormwater management and installing rain gardens, to name a few.
The plan will focus on the neighbourhood along the Cooksville Creek from south of the Canadian Pacific Railway Line to Queen Elizabeth Way between Confederation Parkway and Cliff Road.
We want to hear from you if you live, work, or play in Cooksville. You can also enter for a chance to win one of five $50 gift certificates.
When: The survey will be open from September 23 to November 30, 2023.
Plans for Recreation, Culture, Library, Fire & Emergency Services and Parks, Forestry & Environment are being updated to reflect the City’s rapidly changing trends, infrastructure and service delivery needs. Help shape the services offered by the city.
We recently offered opportunities to provide your input and combined this with additional research to form draft plans. Once again, we encourage you to provide your feedback on the plans starting this November at mississauga.ca/futuredirections.

The City is holding an upcoming meeting on increasing housing choices in Mississauga neighbourhoods through gentle density. Gentle density helps increase the number and variety of homes in existing single-detached neighbourhoods over time.
On Wednesday, November 29, City staff will present draft regulations to allow residents to build up to four residential units on low-rise residential lots. This Statutory Public Meeting will be held at the City’s Planning and Development Committee.
Mississauga needs more housing options for families, older adults, students and others who want to live in our low-rise neighbourhoods. Gentle density is one way to help create the housing choices they need.
For meeting details, visit the Increasing Housing Choices in Neighbourhoods engagement website.
Every year, the City of Mississauga budgets, plans and invests for the future based on your needs and community priorities. We balance our budget to ensure we can afford to maintain our infrastructure and provide services without overspending. The Budget Allocator is an informational tool used solely for educational purposes.
Use the allocator to try balancing a municipal budget. Increase, decrease or maintain spending for key services that affect residents the most. Just remember that you can’t overspend – that would be a deficit.
