Vote From Front Door program expands access to the 2026 Municipal Election

For some residents, getting to a voting location isn’t possible. That’s why the City of Mississauga is introducing the Vote From Front Door program for the 2026 Municipal Election.

The program gives eligible residents who cannot travel to a voting location and cannot appoint a proxy another way to cast their ballot, helping more people participate in local democracy. Through scheduled home visits, trained election officials will help eligible residents through the voting process.

As a pilot program, availability is limited to 40 appointments.

Who is eligible?

You may qualify if you:

• Are unable to leave your home due to illness, injury or mobility limitations.
• Are unable to appoint a voting proxy to vote on your behalf.

The Elections Office will review each request and make the final decision on eligibility.

How to apply

If you are interested in participating, you can complete the online Vote From Front Door registration form.

After registering, applicants will:

1. Complete a screening phone call to determine eligibility.
2. Receive a follow-up call to schedule an appointment.
3. Receive an email with a voting agreement and program guidelines.

Approved applicants will receive appointment details and instructions from the Elections Office before their scheduled voting appointment.
