Voting in the 2026 Municipal Election? Check the voters’ list

Mississauga’s 2026 Municipal Election is on Monday, October 26. Eligible voters will elect Mississauga’s Mayor, their Ward/Regional Councillor and School Board Trustees for the 2026–2030 term of office. 

Use the Voter Registration Portal to check, update or add your information to the voters’ list before voting begins. Being on the voters’ list helps confirm you’re eligible to vote, helps ensure you receive a Voter notification card and can make the process faster when you arrive to vote. 

You can still vote if you are eligible and not on the voters’ list, but you may need to complete extra steps at the voting location. Checking your information now can help you avoid delays and make a plan before Election Day. 

When you check your information, make sure your name, address and school support information are correct. This helps election staff give you the right ballot, including the correct School Board Trustee race. 

Check the voters’ list 

The voters’ list is a record of eligible voters. It is used to confirm voter information, issue Voter notification cards and help election staff direct voters to the correct ballot. Use the Voter Registration Portal to: 

• Check if you are on the list. 
• Add your name if it’s missing. 
• Update your information.   

If you are on the voters’ list, you will receive a Voter notification card in the mail in September 2026. The card shows when and where to vote. It is not required to vote but bringing it with your identification can help make the process quicker.  

Who can vote? 

You can vote in Mississauga’s 2026 Municipal Election if, on Election Day, you are:

• A Canadian citizen 
• At least 18 years old 
• A resident of Mississauga, or non-resident who owns or rents property in Mississauga, or whose spouse does   

Why voting matters 

Voting is a direct way to have a say in who represents you and how Mississauga grows.

Your vote helps shape decisions that affect daily life, including decisions about roads, parks, transit, recreation, community programs and other local services.
