Service changes start on Monday, April 27

Route 135 Eglinton Express will be extended to serve Kipling Bus Terminal, there will be platform changes at Kipling Bus Terminal, Route 101 Dundas Express will operate on Sunday, several routes will have more frequent service, and others will have schedule adjustments.

Route 135 extended to serve Kipling Bus Terminal

To enhance connections to Toronto, Route 135 Eglinton Express will be extended to serve Kipling Bus Terminal. This extended service will offer customers another express travel option for connecting with TTC and GO Transit services at this key transit hub.

Customers can board Route 135 Eglinton Express at Platform 5 (stop #9059) on the north side of Kipling Bus Terminal.

Service frequencies and schedules for Routes 135 Eglinton Express and 35 Eglinton will also be adjusted.

Platform changes at Kipling Bus Terminal

Many MiWay routes that serve Kipling Bus Terminal will have new platform locations. This reorganization will accommodate the extended Route 135 Eglinton Express, reduce customer crowding on the platform, and allow for a dedicated drop-off location for some routes to reduce terminal congestion.

Platform changes include:

  • Platform 5: Route 135
  • Platform 6: Dedicated drop-off location
  • Platform 11: Route 108 added
  • Platform 12: Routes 11, 70 and 71
  • Platform 13: Route 20 added
  • Platform 14: Route 26
  • Platform 15: Route 109

Service improvements

Due to increased customer demand and to address overcrowding, the following routes will have more frequent service.

Improved service on weekdays:

3 Bloor

  • From 8-19 minutes to 10-15 minutes in the morning rush hour between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m.
  • From 20 minutes to 15 minutes in the midday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • From 8-20 minutes to 10-15 minutes in the afternoon rush hour between 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

5 Dixie: from 30 minutes to 15 minutes in the midday between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

28 Confederation

  • From up to 24 minutes to 15-18 minutes in the morning rush hour between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • From 22 minutes to 20 minutes in the midday between 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • From up to 35 minutes to 15-20 minutes in the afternoon rush hour between 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

70 Keaton

  • From 18 minutes to 15 minutes in the morning rush hour between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
  • From 18 minutes to 15 minutes in the afternoon rush hour between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

71 Sheridan: additional eastbound trip departing Sheridan Park Drive and Winston Churchill Boulevard at 4:20 p.m.

108 Financial Express

  • Additional northbound trip departing Kipling Bus Terminal at 8 a.m.
  • Additional southbound trip departing Argentia Road and Creditview Road at 4:34 p.m.

Improved service on Sundays:

  • 101 Dundas Express: new Sunday service between Kipling Bus Terminal and University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) with a service frequency of 20 minutes in the core period between 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. and 24 minutes in the evening between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Improved connections to GO service

MiWay ridership has grown at Erindale GO Station and Cooksville GO Station. To meet this demand, the following routes will have schedule adjustments to improve connection times with the Milton Line at these two stations:

  • 9 Rathburn: this route will allow for more connections to Milton Line service at Erindale GO Station during morning and afternoon rush hours.
  • 28 Confederation: this route will allow for more connections to Milton Line service at Cooksville GO Station during morning and afternoon rush hours.

New stops on Route 107

In response to customer feedback, new bus stops will be added to Route 107 Malton Express along Humberwood Boulevard at Pinecone Drive in Toronto.

  • The southbound bus stop (stop #3459) will allow customers to be picked up by buses heading towards City Centre Transit Terminal.
  • The northbound bus stop (stop #3458) will allow for customers to be dropped off by buses heading towards Humber College Bus Terminal.

Routing adjustment on Route 108

To improve the efficiency of Route 108 Financial Express, the afternoon southbound routing will be streamlined to travel along Financial Drive and Creditview Road, matching the morning northbound routing.

A new bus stop on Creditview Road at Derry Road (stop #6139) will replace two existing bus stops (stops #1575 and #1423) along Creditview Road and Derry Road.

In addition, Route 108 Financial Express will now serve the following stops during the afternoon rush hour:

  • Meadowvale Boulevard at Fengate Drive (stop #2384)
  • Meadowvale Boulevard at Tottington Drive (stop #0099)
  • Meadowvale Boulevard at Financial Drive (stop #0829)

Seasonal post-secondary service reductions

Due to lower customer demand during the summer academic term, the following service reductions will be in effect:

  • 44 Mississauga Road: weekday service frequency will be adjusted to 15-28 minutes from 6-22 minutes during rush hours and to 26 minutes from 20 minutes during the midday.
  • 110A University Express: weekday supplementary service between City Centre Transit Terminal and UTM will be suspended during the summer academic term. Route 110 University Express will continue to provide service between City Centre Transit Terminal and Clarkson GO Station, via UTM.
  • 126 Burnhamthorpe Express: weekday service frequencies will be adjusted to 20-22 minutes during peak periods from 15 minutes.

Regular post-secondary service will resume on Tuesday, September 8.
