Overview
The City is expanding Saigon Park to provide residents with a dedicated facility to play cricket. Saigon Park, because of its size and location, was identified as an opportunity to meet the growing need for a cricket field in this recreational area.
The cricket field will have these features:
- 3 natural wickets
- 1 artificial turf wicket
- Sports field lighting
- Cricket batting cage
- Field irrigation system
- Batter’s eye screens
- Player benches
- Fencing around the perimeter
- Washroom building
- Parking lot
- Accessible trail connections
Project status
The design for the cricket field is currently in progress. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2025.
The City completed public engagement activities on November 8, 2024. Postcards and on-site signs detailing proposed improvements were sent to residents in the surrounding areas.
