About
The City is constructing a new fire station at 870 Queen Street as part of the City’s Fire and Emergency Services Future Directions Plan.
Priority
This area is a priority area for a new fire station because:
- The geography and local road networks in the area make it challenging for emergency response services, such as large firetrucks, to access Lorne Park and nearby areas.
- The closest stations currently serving the area can’t meet the response time targets.
Background
As the City continues to grow, the need for fire and emergency services rises. Station 127 is the fifth station identified in the City’s plan to build six new fire stations over the next 12 years to improve emergency response time and to target a response time of four minutes or less for the first arriving vehicle, 75% of the time.
This station will improve response time in its primary response area and support adjacent communities.
