The Smart Cities Challenge was launched in 2017 as part of the Impact Canada Initiative (External link)to help communities of all sizes improve the lives of their residents through innovation, data and connected technology. The program is delivered by Infrastructure Canada and will contribute $300M in three rounds of competition funding over 11 years.
Although Mississauga was not selected as part of the shortlist (External link)of communities, the City intends to move forward with its Smart Cities Master Plan.
The City engaged residents, industry and agency partners to help us to develop a Smart City Master Plan and our Smart Cities Challenge submission.
