The green development standard are measures used by developers to achieve environmentally, socially and economically sustainable design and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The City has updated our standard to meet goals in our Climate Change Action Plan. Council approved the update in April 2024.
All new residential and non-residential site plan approval applications are encouraged to meet the Tier 1 green development standard.
The voluntary Tier 2 standard will be in effect in 2028 and Tier 3 standard in 2030.
