Mississauga Council gives green light to City's Living Green Master Plan
Adoption of the Living Green Master Plan (LGMP) by Mississauga City Council on Wednesday,
January 18, clears the way to begin implementation of Mississauga's first environmental master
plan!
Implementation of the LGMP will kick-off this spring with the launch of a marketing campaign
aimed at mobilizing the community into action.

Can I get involved?
Citizen participation has been a key part of our process for writing the plan. Our next step
is to take the LGMP to City Council for adoption in mid-January 2012. We will post the
date the Plan will be before Council early in the new year for everyone that would like to
attend to show their support. Please

Actions for a green future
The City of Mississaugas Living Green Master Plan (LGMP) is the action plan for doing
business and providing services in an environmentally sustainable way. It inspires
collaboration and enables the City to achieve its environmental goals. This website contains
information to help you participate and follow the process as we work toward developing the
LGMP.
Through extensive public consultation, the Our Future Mississauga Strategic Plan determined
five areas where the City should concentrate resources to realize its strategic vision.
The people of Mississauga were clear that the environment is of great importance and that there
is a clear desire to protect and enhance our natural environment for future generations.
How was the LGMP developed?
The Environmental Management Section of the Citys Community Services Department, under
direction from the Environmental Advisory Committee, led development of the Master Plan with
support from consultants: Canadian Urban Institute (lead consultant), BA Group, Enermodal
Engineer Limited, LGL Limited and Senses.
