The City grants privileges to residents who have valid Provincial accessible parking
permits. In addition to parking in the accessible parking spaces, it also allows them to
park in the pay and display and the metered parking free of charge, provided a Provincial
permit is displayed correctly. The City of Mississauga does not give out Provincial
parking permits, the Province of Ontario does, and you must visit the Ministry of
Transportation website for more information. The City of Mississauga does, however, have
its own accessible parking permit for anyone with a valid Provincial accessible parking permit
and is unable to access their home,(residential or apartment) due to the physical access
restrictions of their driveway, for example, slope of driveway, trees preventing ramps to
deploy, etc. can apply for a City-issued accessible parking permit to allow them to park on the
street in front of their home. A permit will not be issued due to a resident's lack of
parking spaces for their vehicles.
An application
form must be completed giving the reason(s) for exemption. Only one permit per valid
Provincial accessible parking permit per household is allowed.
