The City grants privileges to residents who have valid provincial accessible parking permits. In addition to allowing parking in spaces designated to accessible parking, such a permit also allows the permit holder to park in the pay and display and the metered parking free of charge, provided a provincial permit is displayed correctly.
Accessible Parking Permits:
The City of Mississauga does not issue provincial parking permits. You can visit the Ministry of Transportation's website to obtain a permit or get more information.
However, the City of Mississauga will issue an accessible parking permit to an individual with a valid provincial accessible parking permit who are unable to access their home due to the physical access restrictions of the driveway (such as the slope of the driveway, trees preventing ramps etc.). Eligible individuals can apply for a city-issued accessible parking permit to allow for parking on the street in front of their home. To obtain a city issued accessible parking permit, an application form must be completed and submitted stating the reason(s) for requesting a permit. - Only one permit per valid provincial accessible parking permit per household is allowed.
- A permit will not be issued due to a resident's lack of parking spaces for their vehicles.
