Plan ahead for Great Outdoors Comedy Festival, September 11 to 13 at Erindale Park

The City of Mississauga is looking forward to welcoming the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival to Erindale Park, September 11 to 13. Visitors and residents can expect a weekend of live stand-up comedy featuring Emmy-winning and acclaimed comedians against the backdrop of the Credit River.

For the first time, Erindale Park will be home to one of the largest comedy festivals in the country. Admission begins at noon for matinee shows and 5:30 p.m. for evening shows. Tickets are still available for all three days and can be purchased through the festival website.

As Mississauga welcomes thousands of attendees to the festival, the City is advising residents, visitors and park users of temporary closures at Erindale Park and surrounding areas to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

What to expect at Erindale Park

To support event setup, operations and site teardown, please note these temporary changes from September 6 to 16:

• Parking lots in Erindale Park will be closed. Consider taking transit, ride-share services, the festival shuttle or biking to the event.
• The main festival area at Erindale Park will be fenced starting September 6 to allow for event setup and safe operations. Access to the main area will reopen on September 16 following site teardown.
• Access to the trail through the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) entrance will remain open to the public. There will be no event access to trail entrances at Ballyclare Drive and Credit Heights Drive.
• Access to the lower riverside trails and pedestrian bridge will remain open to the public during the event. Some areas may be temporarily closed or redirected at certain times. Follow on-site signage for direction.

What to expect on the roads

Dundas Street West will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction between Mississauga Road and Robinson Street on:

• September 11 from 10 a.m. to midnight.
• September 12 and 13 from 6 a.m. to midnight.

A temporary crosswalk with police assistance will be available on Dundas Street West across from the main entrance to Erindale Park.

Using MiWay

Due to lane reductions at Dundas Street West, riders should allow for extra time if they are commuting during the festival:

• Expect delays and more passengers than usual on Routes 1, 101 and 110 due to traffic congestion.
• Bus stop #0520 (eastbound) and #1102 (westbound) at the entrance to Erindale Park (Dundas Street West at Nanticoke Road) will not be in service during the festival. Please use the nearest stops at Dundas Street West and Mississauga Road or Dundas Street West and Robinson Street.

Going to the festival?

As there will be no parking onsite at Erindale Park and surrounding neighbourhoods, the City is advising festival attendees to use other ways to get to the event.

Consider taking transit

MiWay and GO Transit connections can help you get there for less. Erindale Park is accessible through Erindale GO Station, Clarkson GO Station and GO bus routes and several MiWay routes that connect across Mississauga.

Free shuttle service will operate during all evening shows between Clarkson GO Station and Erindale Park throughout the festival, providing attendees with an easy and convenient travel option. Adult MiWay PRESTO fares start at $3.50. With the One Fare Program, riders can transfer for free between GO Transit and MiWay using PRESTO within the transfer window.

Other transportation options

Attendees can travel to the festival by bike, ride-share or e-scooter. Complimentary bicycle valet service will be available for those arriving by bike.

Paid parking is available at the UTM campus, with limited spaces. From the parking lot, attendees can reach the festival grounds by following a park trail from UTM. The walk takes approximately 10 minutes.

Limited accessible parking will be available at Erindale Hall. Guests requiring accessible parking are encouraged to contact the event organizer in advance to arrange access.
